Kancamagus Highway Campgrounds

The Kancamagus Highway offers 6 White Mountain National Forest campgrounds that can be found right on the Kancamagus Scenic Byway. There are also other privately owned campgrounds near the Kancamagus Highway. See below for a list of Kancamagus area campgrounds.

Campgrounds on the Kancamagus Scenic Byway all offer bathrooms, drinking water, an open fireplace, picnic tables and parking. Jigger Johnson Campground is the only campground on the Kancamagus Highway that has showers, which are coin operated. Camp sites accept tents or trailers, some sites are tent only. There are no electric, water or sewer trailer hook ups. Campsites are only available on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations are only allowed at Covered Bridge Campground. Pets are allowed on leashes. Only 2 campgrounds are open year-round, Blackberry Crossing and Hancock campground. Other Kancamagus campgrounds are open from mid-May through mid-October, weather permitting.

Remember, do not bring firewood to the forest, use only firewood from the local area! Each campground has a host on site that sells cut/split firewood.
