Kancamagus
Highway Rules
There are some rules to keep in mind during your visit to the Kancamagus
Highway in New Hampshire. Following the rules stated
at the parking areas will help protect you, your
family, the forest and the wildlife.
Are Dogs Allowed on the Kancamagus
Highway?
Dogs are allowed on the Kancamagus Highway
but they must be leashed at all times.
Alcohol
Alcohol is not allowed on the Kancamagus
Highway or in any of the parks. Alcohol is
allowed in the camping areas.
Campfires
Campfires are not allowed within 1/4 mile of
the Kancamagus Highway or trail heads. Due
to the fragile forest, firewood must be from
local sources only. Bringing firewood from
other places could cause environmental
issues by introducing insects that are not
normally found near the Kancamagus Highway.
Fireworks
Fireworks are not allowed anywhere along the
Kancamagus Highway.

Each scenic area, trailhead, campground or
park will have its own set of rules posted.
